25 WordPress Plugins You Might Need?

WordPress plugins you might need?

wordpress plugins

WordPress is the best platform out there on the market to make your needs available to produce articles and content. The plugins of wordpress make this a top-notch quality type to use for your blog or site.

Take a look. Ask the above question again to yourself. Have a look through again and see if you’re actually missing something to your blog.

Look through your wordpress plugins on your dashboard. Still have not found exactly what you need? Does it still look empty or have too many wordpress plugins that are mainly junk and don’t help?

Numbers don’t lie. Numbers will tell you if it is worth it or not. Many will buy based on numbers and that is not a fluke for a reason. It shows the credibility and popularity of that specific wordpress plugin or product in any market.

Having the right and needed wordpress plugin at your disposal might be the difference between succeeding and failing, and saving you an enormous amount of time and money. WordPress plugins have been very helpful to many bloggers that have made it big, and are praising some of the plugins that helped them make it there.

The Scribe plugin from copyblogger is first in line. I chose this as one of the plugins that will help you with your SEO efforts and get you off the ground with that art.

SEO is really not simple but not one to be avoided either. Many bloggers and beginners make the mistake of not learning what SEO is and getting at least the basics down.

  1. saad naeem @ seoallrounder

great list over there , kind of impressed by scribe , but will read reviews on other sites to get an idea about it .

already using optin skin and its working great for me.

  2. Lynn Brown

An amazing list of plug-ins, thanks Samuel for taking the time to put this together.

I tried to access any and all links for OptinSkin – the videos are not available. Looks like YouTube took them all down? I would like to see how it looks on a site.

Also it seems when I add new plugins my site has issues. I have Genesis, would there be any issues using any of these plugins (I have some of these already). thanks again.

    • Samuel Pustea

That is really strange on why OptinSkin’s site is not working for you. The site’s video is not hosted on YouTube, so it is probably coming from them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et6xdtXZpfs – Here is an awesome video done by Pat Flynn, describing what OptinSkin is all about.

I don’t know why your site has issues, but it could be plugins that are weak and not well developed. Try getting quality-type plugins like the ones from this article’s list. They should definitely work.

  3. Amit Shaw

Yeah Amazing List of Plugin Mate.
Except #2, #5, #7 all plugin i have tried even some of plugin i am using. Thanks for this mate.

  4. Ashwani Ahlawat

    Hi Samuel,
I am using 4 plugins only from your 25 plugins list.
Although I would count it 5 as i am using W3 Total Cache instead of Super Cache.
Some more effective plugins i think are also good:
    1. CommentLuv
    2. Google Analytics
    3. WP-Greet Box
    4. ShareBar (same like Digg Digg)
    5. Sexy Bookmarks
    6. Mash Social Widget
BTW from your list i’ll try for the OptinSkin. ;) Keep up the good work mate.

    • Samuel Pustea

That is some nice list you got there too!

I am using commentluv from that list, and I am sure many reading this article can use some of them too.

Try the OptinSkin, and see if it works for you and you like it :)

  5. Kelvin Wealth

Thanks Samuel for putting this great list together..I just discovered many new plugins now that I think will be very useful to my blogging career…

    Thanks for sharing

    • Samuel Pustea

You’re welcome Kelvin. Discover the new plugins that will help you succeed now :)

      Thanks for your comment.

  6. Michael Belk

Samuel, these are a great list of plugins. I use some of them but I am going to check some of them out. WordPress has so many. thanks

    • Samuel Pustea

      Thanks Michael.

WordPress has many very good ones and many bad ones as well. Have to pick and choose the best around.

  7. Carl

I must admit that I read the first time for some of those plugins and actually it does make a good sense to use those. I must say that for now I haven’t try Scribe and Social Metrics pro.

  8. Samuel Pustea

All of these plugins make sense to use. That is why I added them to the article, to help many get as quality and effective plugins as they can get.

If you need any assistance in SEO, than Scribe will help you out. If you need help in reaching out and seeing all of your social presence, than Social Metrics pro is going to show you. Both are extremely helpful.

  9. Mitch

    Great list of plugins.

Curious though. Too many plugins, well coded or not, will slow down at site. So how many do you run on your blog/site?

    Thanks

    Mitch

    • Samuel Pustea

I personally think between ten to fifteen max is good enough. I guess you can squeeze in twenty if your site is fast already.

Remember, many things and teaks can be done through simple coding and what not. Just got to do it yourself, and it usually works.

      Thanks for your comment Mitch.

  10. Dave

Scribe really doesn’t do too much that 1-2 other plugins do, including some you’ve mentioned.

Good to see things like MailPress taking over from traditional outsourcing though!

    • Samuel Pustea

True, but it is not for the advanced SEO guy either :)

It helps a lot to get your feet off the ground and set a good base in SEO. Thanks for your comment Dave.

  11. Sabine Brandt

Awesome list, thanks for sharing. I had a few of these already but there are definitely some that I will check out and add to my plug-in portfolio!

    • Samuel Pustea

      You’re welcome

Anytime you need an upgrade or new plugin, come back to this article to see the best ones to choose :)

      Thanks for your comment, Sabine.

  12. Ann

Thank you, Samuel. You have given me some new good ideas to try out. I am especially interested in blog security since my blog was hacked over and over. I will definitely add your security plugins.

I also like the way your site looks. Simple, good sized print. Lots of pictures per the one blog.

    Great work over all.

    • Samuel Pustea

Yeah, I made sure to add some security plugins into the list, just in case some bloggers are having security issues.

I guess you are having some difficulties, and the security plugins come at a good time. Thanks for liking my site, and I try to to make visually appealing as much as possible.

      Thanks for your comment, Ann.

  13. Kris Olin

    Good ones, Samuel!

My personal favourites that we also use at Social Media Revolver at Yoast SEO and WP Super Cache. We will give Digg Digg a go shortly.

Id’ like to recommend WP Touch which converts your blog into smart phones.

    Cheers,
    Kris

    • Samuel Pustea

Digg Digg is great and you will be liking the customization “part” of the plugin..

WP Touch sounds cool too, and can help your blog be friendly to the mobiles.

Thanks for your comment and recommendation, Kris.

  14. janmejaya

    Great collection of plugins.

I love 13 and 23. Thanks for posting this topic.

  15. syahrilhafiz

hmm actually I do not know how to use the AdRotate, as it does not work.

another one, Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin. its awesome!

    • Samuel Pustea

Growmap Anti Spambot, I just heard of that one. It seems to do the job. I will look into that one more.

  16. Ivin

Hello Samuel. I have actually bought SMPRO 2 days ago. Looks impressive and a lot of Reds to sort out. Mine bombed today, but I sent a support request. Hope they can sort it out.

My preferences are: Pop Up domination, I use SEO pressor instead of AIOSEO,…

    Facebook commerce looks great!

You know better than to share Akismet when CLP has GASP or you can get the free GASP version :)

I LOVE G\Digg Digg. On all my sites. Chnagedd from Cache to Cloudflare and soon MaxCDN.

Don’t really have a use for all the opther stuff as Woothemes have most of it integrated. I have their developer licence and it is Boss!

Thanks for the link and hope my comment adds value. Cheers mate!

    • Samuel Pustea

I know akismet could be better, but I have never used GASP and couldn’t write about it.
I keep hearing it is a really good plugin, and the need to look at it grows =)

The Facebook plugin is nice and was really impressed with it when I saw it.

Sounds really nice what Woothemes features and to see you like it like a BOSS! =)

Thanks for your added value, Ivin, and thanks for your help!

  17. Bharadwaj Giridhar

Nice collection of plugins, but anyway you must reorder akismet to the top and also add GASP plugin : D

    • Samuel Pustea

Yeah, I would have added that too, but I had more important ones to add. This won’t be the only list, since I will probably add another list to this one.

I already heard two recommendations of this plugin. More demand, which means my research is needed on “GASP”

  18. Roy A. Ackerman, Ph.D., E.A.

Great list. I wrote down a few that I need to research. Love the help!

  19. Tonia Hardeman

Great list, Samuel. I have a few of them, but you have introduced me to a couple that I have not heard of. I will be looking into those plugins and possibly adding them to my blog. Thanks!

  20. John Ernest

Personally, SEO is hard to learn form scratch. There are a lot of things that you should watch when you want to constantly stay on top and improve. Mainly, you just have to make sure that your links are always fresh and new and have high PR rankings to complement yours.

    • Samuel Pustea

I totally agree. But take it step by step. SEO is important and can be done with growth and learning.

You are right about the links being needed to be fresh and updated to your blog.

  21. Ammar Ali

Great list buddy, I am using only 5 from your list. Will have to give try to remaining WP Plugins ;)

    BTW Nice post!

    • Samuel Pustea

You are using 5 “excellent” plugins Ammar. Give them a try and let me know ;)

  22. Ehsan

    Hey Samuel,

I don’t want to repeat what everyone else already said in their comment which is “Nice list” or “Awesome post” etc.

I just want to say that I’m currently using the All in one SEO instead of SEO by Yoast and Antivirus from this list.

    • Samuel Pustea

      No problem man, I don’t mind ;)

I am using that as well. The All in one SEO plugin is doing its job!

      Thanks for the comment.

  23. Mairaj Pirzada

A post I liked, and see this site first time, I liked it and will also subscribe to it’s feeds ! Thanks for the post! I have downloaded many plugins from the list

    • Samuel Pustea

Thanks for downloading some of the plugins and you will surely be benefited by them.

      Thanks for your comment, Mairaj!

  24. Apoorv Dwivedi

All in one SEO and Akismet are really must to use plugin…

  25. Martha Giffen

Wow! What a comprehensive list! Thanks for all the info. I am familiar with many but saw a couple of new ones! Appreciate it!

    • Samuel Pustea

I am sure you saw some familiar and am sure you will like try to try some new, helpful ones :)

  26. Gretel

    hi,
is there any alternative to AKISMET, a capcha or reCapcha something?
Thanks for the wonderful list of plugins.

  27. Samuel Pustea

Yeah there is, check out GASP.

    http://growmap.com/growmap-anti-spambot-plugin/

A very good alternative to Akismet.

  28. extra person

excellent collection. i am using some of them. now, i am downloading more from your list. all slider plugin will support wordpress 3.4 ?

    • Samuel Pustea

Thanks man. I don’t know yet about the all slider plugin, so I can’t answer that question right now.

  29. Puneet

Awesome list of plugins. There are few which I knew already but most of them are new to me like antivirus, bulletproof etc. Thanks for these.

  30. Raaj Trambadia

Agree with all except Akismet :) Don’t get me wrong, but I have one of the best Alternatives for that – CommentLuv Premium :)

What Akismet does is that it moves spammy comments into the spam folder, while CLP never allows Spam to enter into the COMMENTS section :)

    Otherwise, all were useful! Cheers

    • Samuel Pustea

Yeah Raaj, thanks for telling us more about Akismet.

I know understand more about Akismet, and won’t really suggest it again, since it gets many complaints.

      Thanks for reading!

  31. J. Allen Matchmaking

Wow, information galore. I need a drink to help me absorb all this!

  32. Liz

great list i have most of these but i think I’ll try a few you suggested! nice research !

  33. Angela Jordan

great plugins! I definitely need to bookmark this page and revisit some of these plugins. I have heard of and use some, but I see some that would definitely be beneficial! Thanks

    • Samuel Pustea

Thanks Angela. Some, mostly, are very beneficial and can’t go wrong with bookmarking this page :)

  34. Jennifer

Great list of plugins, thanks. I use many of them and see some new ones here I ‘ll be checking out. I agree with you on Scribe, it’s one of my favorites. Some people prefer Yoast, especially since it’s free but I find Scribe easier to use and understand (for SEO “dummies” like me!)

    • Samuel Pustea

Scribe is an excellent tool to use, especially for SEO beginners who need help with the first step.

Yoast is free, and probably a little more complicated than Scribe, like you said. Thanks for the comment Jennifer.

  35. Lawrence Bergfeld

This is brilliant because more plugins more readers!

    Lawrence Bergfeld

  36. Lawrence Bergfeld

    More plugins bring more traffic.

    Lawrence Bergfeld

    • Samuel Pustea

The right plugins with great support can give you an incredible amount of results and like you said, traffic and quality readers.

      Thanks for commenting, Lawrence.

  37. Rob Cairns

This is a great list. One thing that is missing is a good backup plugin – I use BackupBuddy:)

    • Samuel Pustea

      You’re welcome Rob.

I did include one backup plugin, I don’t know if you saw it. XCloner is the plugin.

Backup Buddy is another excellent plugin for backing your blog. Thanks for the mention.

  38. Bryan

all in one seo and google xml sitemaps seem redundant in this list when Yoast SEO is in the list. Also, it performs some keyword analysis that you would use Scribe for, though I’m sure Scribe is more robust for that.

Well, I posted a few options, and whatever anyone chooses to go with is fine.

Not everybody will like Yoast SEO, and some like myself prefer All In One SEO.

Interesting list. I might try Scribe. I don’t want my blog to be full of plug-ins; it makes the system hungry for processing.

    thanks a lot though!

Scribe needs to be tried! Have the plugins that you need only.

      Thanks Kazzit!

Great collection of WP Plugins :) Jetpack, Akismet and WP Super Cache are almost indispensable for all the bloggers.

    Thanks.
